Like his mother, Libby, Cheney has a presence in the show pen and gets attention,
no matter where we show. Cheney is easy to work with and catches on quickly. His movement,
in Yearling Hunter In Hand, was noticed by judges, as was his calm attitude.
When I showed him our first place ribbon at the 2008 Reichert Appaloosa Celebration,
he didn't get a "big head". Cheney noticed it, but remained his usual calm self. I was
very proud of the way he handled the two large shows we attended. He did fine with all the noise and
activity, performed well and took it all in stride.
It was no secret I planned to geld Cheney, since he was born. Now that the time has come
to do it, I've had several people ask me to keep him a stallion, just a little longer.
