While Melody has the same AQHA sire as Millie and Maggie, elsewhere on this site, Melody is out
of an AQHA mare, so she is 100% Quarter Horse. At birth, her mane and tail were the same as her
body color, but her mane soon began growing out in a light flaxen color. She looks really
flashy as an adult. One thing Melody has, somewhat uncommon with Quarter Horses, but
considered a trait in the Appaloosa breed, is the white scelera around the eyes. Scelera makes
the equine eye look "human", as it shows white around the iris of the eye.
One look at her pedigree and you can see that she comes from very good AQHA stock. She might be
a future reining horse and already shows signs of having learned a few things from her mom,
quite well. Melody appears destined to be an "alpha" mare, just like her momma, Wendy.
