Pasquale arrived here in late September, 2004, as a 5 year old unbroke, unregistered Paint gelding.
He was the "by product" of a nurse mare farm. Nurse mares are bred so they produce milk, but their
natural foals are taken away at a few days old so the mare can be sent to another farm in need of
a mare to raise an orphan. Her own natural foal then ends up being the orphan.
I don't know anything about his first 5 years or if his former owners gave him a name, since he
came to Diamond Run through a third party. However, Pasquale is very quiet, very gentle and should
be a dependable riding horse when the mares are out in the pasture raising babies. He had obviously
never seen cows before he arrived here and spent a whole day studying the neighbor's cows across
the road. He is easy to pick out in a field of Appaloosas and Quarter Horses.
